How Do Oysters Reproduce?

Have you guys wonder how do oysters make love in order to continue their species in this world and not going extinct?

I, myself have been wondering about this for quite some time and I decided to make a research about this topic after I went for a trip to Pangkor Island. Fyi, I'm only discussing about how oysters reproduce because clams, mussels and other shellfishes reproduce in a different way.

I've found out that, oysters reproduce in different ways than the regular birth process. Oysters use external fertilization. It means that the female oyster releases eggs where the male oyster releases sperm and they fuse in water.

Pheromones, a chemical substance secreted externally by some animals that influences the physiology or behavior of other animals of the same species is released by the first oyster that begins the process in to the water as a signal to the other oysters in the area that it's the right time to reproduce. Reproduction in oysters usually happens in the summer where the ocean temperature reaches approximately 23.9°C or 75°F . They are extremely fertile as the female oysters can release up to 5 million eggs while the male oysters can release up to 2.7 billion sperms! However, only 1 million larva can make it through their first week of life and some does not survive due to water conditions and predators.

After four hours, the sperm and egg fused, the larva began to has its organs and developed tissue. Up till two weeks, they floats around the water and begins to look for a permanent home. When the oysters drops to the ocean floor, they uses its foots to look for clutch or hard surface to stay permanent. They secretes cement from their byssus gland and stay there permanently. Oysters can start reproducing in its first year of life.

SHOCKING FACT ABOUT THE GENDER OF AN OYSTER!

All oysters starts off life as a MALE and because they are hermaphroditic, ( (biology) of animal or plant; having both male female reproductive organs) they can change to females after one year. Within 3 years, 90% of the oysters are female. We can tell the gender of the oysters according to their size; small ones are males while large ones are females.

Birthdayyyyyy!!! PART TWO!

Alright, this is another surprise birthday celebration for me right on my birthday last night. It's with all my beloved balls balls! <3

Things go like this at first.

My girlfriend told me she won't be here on my birthday. She will be going to KL on my birthday and she gave me an advanced only present which is a bottle with our pictures on it. So, I thought this is real and I was really really sad and depressed a day before my birthday. She ignored me a day before my birthday till the next day. Obviously, I was dead sad, dead depressed being ignored by my own girlfriend.

Kiko and Joey and other balls balls were forcing me to go to the 'mooncake festival celebration' at Joey's house on my birthday night, which is last night. I was actually felt that it's a bit weird because they are like forcing me to go, it's a 'SURE MUST GO' thing. I don't feel like going because I'm not in the mood where my girlfriend won't be there celebrating my birthday for me.

But in the end, I decided to go because I'm afraid that I might be killed, eat and tortured by those evil, creepy and mean balls balls. Taylor came and fetched me around 6 something in the evening with Karyee. They then fetched me to Jacky's house, I was like "Huh, I thought it's gonna be held in Joey's house?". They told me Joey went to Malacca because of something, so they have to like change the place to Jacky's house.

Fyi, I've already throw away my expectations that my girlfriend will be there on my birthday because by expecting too much and the results is not what I've expected, it will turn out to be a total disaster and disappointment on my birthday.

I went in the house, and I saw Jacky and Kiko shooting those confetti at me. I was shocked when I saw there're balloons everywhere and they started singing happy birthday to me. I don't even dare to walk in the house because I'm afraid that they will shoot me in the eyes. Lolz.

Steff shouted at me and asked me to go in without thinking so much. I was scared so I went in as fast as I could so that I won't be killed by her. And at that moment, I looked on my right, and I saw a very familiar red shoes but I don't really care and continue walking towards Steff. She asked me to smile to the camera and so did I. I smiled and suddenly,

Someone poked me from the back. I turned. It was her! She was holding a cake with a candle on it and they were all singing happy birthday song to me again. I dropped dead on the floor, ran to the couch and started screaming. I teared up. But, I wiped it as soon as possible so no one will see it.

She came right next to me and asked me to blow the candle because the cake is melting as it was an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. I blew the candle and all I can do is to look right in to her eyes, thinking if this was real. They pinched me real hard, and of course I could feel that pain and I realized this is real!

For almost an hour, I've been looking at her, gazing at her. I'm really happy, dead happy this time. I hugged her and I cried. I told her, I hated her for ignoring me for the whole day and now she's right infront of me hugging me.

She gave a me a box of present. And I was like, "Er, I thought you said there's no more present for me". I opened the box and there's a beautiful birthday card done by her, with our pictures on it! And there's two boxers for me hehe.

We ordered pizza for our dinner and we craps and took a lot of polaroids pictures that night.

Kiko went home first, followed by Karyee and then me, Taylor and her. Taylor fetched us home around 11pm.

Seriously and honestly, I couldn't describe my feelings last night. I was really dead happy and I'm still that happy now. Too bad, Joey could't join us that night :( I don't care , after your trials we all have to go out and happy happy! :D

Birthdayyyyyyy!

It's the perfect time to blog about my sweet 19th! Yeah, I know I know, I'm getting older year by year. I'm gonna be 20 next year ohmysmurf! :\

Anyways, my birthday this year is so so so awesome and memorable! Eventhough, some of my important people in my life, didn't really celebrated with me but it's okay! I could still feel their presence lolz.

Kiern, Shenmun, Clyde, Jojo, Chris and Venis planned an advanced birthday party for me at Euro House. I thought it was just a used to be hangout and yumcha session. I went there without any expectations that there will be any surprise for me.

We were happily chatting and crapping with each other. Taking pictures with each other. Snatching that Xbox Kinect with few children and playing with it. And then, this is where it happens.

I was playing Kinect with Jojo while suddenly most of them look behind me, so I thought what was happening, I turned and ...

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Amelia, happy birthday to you"

They were singing and they were taking a tray of cupcakes and eggtarts with lighted candles on it and a really big cardboard with birthday messages on it and pictures on it. It was a birthday card ! I was, seriously, so freaking shocked. I never expect that there will be any surprise for me. I was really thankful and touched on what they did.

Jojo did those cupcakes and they bought me eggtarts because they knew I don't really have interest on cakes :)
They bought me a beautiful present, it's a photo frame/photo album! I'm gonna have to print a lot a lot of memorable pictures and put it inside!

I, hereby, wanna thank all of them for giving me such a surprise! Seriously, never regretted knowing you guys. I love you guys!! <3

BB Steff's Surprise Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AH SAUYU STEFF BALL BALL <3 

So, it was our Steff the Sauyu BB birthday on the 11th September. All the BB except for her had already planned that surprise birthday party for her before her birthday. All the BB except for her boyfriend, Jacky told her that they couldn't attend or celebrate her birthday this year because they are having their SPM Trials right now. Parents don't allow and blah blah.

So as I know, Steff was very very sad and depressed. So the plan goes like this.

Jacky will be the only one celebrating with her on Sunday, her exact birthday. We already told Jacky to bring her to Berlinz and guess where he brought Steff to... Moven Peak wor lolz. Amelow came to my house followed by Joey. We even get to watched Yes Or No before moving our ass to meet them. Amelow drove that day and fetched us to Greentown.

Well, we met up with Taylor and Karyee and then we were all waiting for Kiko but I guess she had some problems so she will be late. So we went to Berlinz and saw none of them there, so Joey gave a call to Jacky asking him where the heck are them and guess what, they were in Moven Peak lolz.

We went over and gave her a surprise and Steff cried! She cried! Everyone bet that she will 100% cry but she told her boyfriend she will never cry if there's surprise and stuff. We waited them to finished their foods and we went over to Berlinz.

Woah. Maybe for some rich kids, Berlinz is not expensive but for me, I think I'll die if I go there almost everyday. It's just so expensive :O Lolz nevermind. We ordered some food and drinks and we kept taking pictures and crapping like no one business.

Amelow went back first followed by Kiko. And then Taylor fetched me home and we did chat a little in my house about something. Lolz.

We actually planned a trip to Pangkor after their trials. Hope all the BB able to attend :\

Pangkor Island One Day Trip! ♥ - 25th August 2011

My friends & I planned a one day trip to Pangkor Island on the 25th August 2011 and it's a successful, enjoyable, relaxing & crazy trip!

The night before the trip, I guessed I was over-excited for the trip because I couldn't fall asleep even I'm superb sleepy & tired! I spent my time Mapling and watching movie until 5.30AM. I packed all my stuffs into my bag and walked to Mun's house, just 5 houses away. They were all awake and they were preparing for food to bring to Pangkor Island with us. Our menu for the day was hotdogs, baked beans and potatoes with some other drinks and snacks too.

We spent an hour in cooking and preparing the food and there we go. We put our luggage in to Kiern's car and we start our journey to Lumut. We sang in the car and I went superb excited because I drank some Livita Honey hahahaha. I think we spend around 2 hours to reach the jetty in Lumut. It's either 1 and half hours or 2 hours.

After a tiring drive to Lumut, we finally reached the jetty in Lumut. We took all our stuffs and rushed for the next ferry. The tickets for the ferry cost us RM10 per person for a "to and fro". The view of the sea during our ride in the ferry to Pangkor Island was fantastic.

Finally, after enjoying the view of the sea on our way to Pangkor Island, we arrived at our destination. Once we go out from the jetty at Pangkor Island, there're like so many people waiting outside asking us if we wanna rent a car and stuff, but we decided to take the cab because we are not going to drive here and there. The cab ride to Teluk Nipah cost us RM15.

We reached the beach and it's like the whole sea and beach belongs to us! It was so quiet and you can barely see people that time. We laid our picnic on the shore and arrange our foods on it. We were so hungry, we were eating like we didn't eat for days. After having our breakfast, we started off our holiday by playing with the frisbee and beach balls and then we went swimming.

I'm always the one who can't go deep down the sea and stuff because I don't know how to swim. Yeah, I know, it's embarrassing. :\ So, we actually rent a big black float to play with it. I'm on it most of the time. And the fun part of that float, is when 5 of us try to fight through the waves to go to the middle of the sea.

For the first time in my life, I get to play with the jet-ski with my friends. I bet if I go to the beach with my family, I will never have the chance to play with all those and never have the chance to get near the sea or even float with the float on the sea. Zzz.
We get to get a very low price for both jet-ski and banana boat after negotiating with that guy. RM120 for both for 5 of us. We went for the jet-ski first.

Woah. It's really hard to describe the feeling of driving/controlling the whole jet-ski by yourself but the guy will be right behind you teaching you where to turn and stuff. Going against the wave is the best thing to do while you are jet-skiing. You will be like floating in the air when you do that haha. The best part, is when he try to drift with his jet-ski against the waves! The feelings are indescribable! 

Right after our jet-ski trip, it started to rain so heavy we have to pack all our stuff and rent a chalet to rest. We get to rent a big room for RM60 too. We put all put all our stuffs inside and take a hot bath because it's kinda uncomfortable walking around when you're like a wet pussy. HAHAHA. We changed and we had a rest, especially me. I think I slept for 2 hours and so? 

I GOT WOKE UP BY KIERN AND CRYSTAL. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THOSE ANNOYING SOUND COMING OUT FROM BOTH OF YOUR HANDPHONES.


OMG. I remember how the 'happy birthday' song by a hamster, an apps from my phone kept singing and omg it's really so freaking annoying. So, I have to wake up and three of us went for a walk by the beach. After the heavy rain, the waves were really strong and the wind is blowing like no one business. We decided to change back to our wet attire and go down the beach again.

After a tiring swim on the beach and unfortunately, we didn't get to play with the banana boat because the guy who is in charge in that left. :\ We left and Crystal started to chase those small little white crabs on the beach. I think we caught a lot of crabs, thanks to Crystal a.k.a the crab girl. LOL. I went in our room and bath and changed, because I'm not really feeling well. They went behind those big rocks and they found awesome stuff there! Those shells were awesome. They were sticking on the walls of those big rocks. Too bad, I missed out those fun :\

All of us packed up and we called for a cab and we went down to the jetty. We went for our dinner at KFC at Pangkor Island and right after buying some food from those stores, we start our journey back to Kampar. We reached Kampar around 11pm and we went to A-Station for a game hahaha.

I went back and without any thoughts, I straight away fall asleep on my bed. 


It was a fun and tiring day! How I wish I can go again with my friends. Maybe, to a further destination. Langkawi? :D
